The Hermitage gathers its friends again!
The Hermitage Gathers Friends Again!
On 30 November 2016, the State Hermitage once again opened its doors to the young visitors, participants of the regular charity events for kids with special needs. “The Hermitage Gathers Friends” is an event annually held as part of the International Decade for the Disabled under the auspices of UNESCO; this year it launched a succession of holidays dedicated to the upcoming New Year.
More than 250 kids from various childcare institutions of St. Petersburg arrived in the Hermitage, the largest and most crucial museum of arts, culture and history in Russia and worldwide. They were expected by guides who prepared special tours for the kids — real adventures into the world of painting, architecture, mythology and ethnos.
The celebration went on at the Hermitage Theater where the kids could watch vivid fragments from various prominent ballet performances by graduates and students from Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet and Boris Eifman Dance Academy.
New Year’s presents became the perfect closing touch of the celebration — colorful, illustrated art books about history of the State Hermitage and a sweet surprise.
Gazprom Export LLC sponsored the charity event organized by the House of the Future autonomous nonprofit organization jointly with the Belaya Medveditsa Center for Support of Disabled Kids and Orphans and direction of the State Hermitage.
